Without a doubt. I would do more research and spend more a little more for one that didnít need much, but yes.

Sure it's a pain in the *** to get in and out of, but I love that "fighter pilot" feeling sitting in that cockpit with the sport seats! Never have driven any Vette newer than my 87 so don't know how much better or worse a newer one would be!

Beginning with the C4, I think all Corvettes have a driver-oriented interior that gives a "cockpit feel." But the C4 layout is especially low-slung and tight.

Oh yeah. I have had cars that were faster, better put together and handled just as well (better than mine, but just as well as any stock non-ZR1 C4 can) but for some reason after owning all of that fun stuff I still just had to have a C4. I have loved the looks of them ever since I was a little kid and for the price they are a bargain daily driver these days.

This is a huge part in why I love mine so much. And being the first gen C4 interior the steering column tilts and telescopes to just the right spot and really makes it feel sporty.

Yes. If only for it being the affordable option. But even if I was far better off I'd seriously consider a zr-1 over more modern options.

When I bought my 94 eight or nine years ago I absolutely loved it. Still do, however since that time I've gained almost 30 damn pounds which does not help entry/egress. I have one of two options....sell the C4 or get off my lazy butt and get back into reasonable shape. Looks like dieting and more excersize is in my immediate future!

I am in the same boat and I am determined to be consistent and disciplined in losing at least 15 pounds by June.
Just imagine how much better we will feel about ourselves, our health and our appearance... inside and outside of our fun sports cars!

You know, I like all corvettes. I would love a mid-year small block coupe with a four speed. C3 would have to be a small block manual convertible. But for modern cars the C4 is my best choice, personally. The later cars got faster and better, but for the small money that buys a C4 I personally wouldn’t go with a later car at the moment.

C5’s have a rounded 90’s shape that just doesn’t appeal to me as much as a Kamm tail C4. The C6’s looked a bit plain to me and the interior, especially the seats, left me wondering. The C7 is a beast on paper and I never drove one, so as much as I suspect I would prefer it to my car, they are off the list since they are very expensive and the C8 is coming out, so some depreciation is likely.

I am afraid I will really want a C8 but my oldest kid is starting private college, so there goes the money for probably 3 or 4 C8’s.

Since I mostly tour the country roads on weekends with the top down, my car (‘89 6M ‘vert) does everything it needs to at an affordable price.

Very interesting and well-written evaluation of all the recent years, Digidash. Thanks

Yes, I would.

C4s are great values. I love my ZR-1.

Would I like a C6 ZR1 or a C7 Z06 or a C8? Sure! But, I have other (more important) things to spend my money on. The C4 allows me to be Corvette owner and enjoy cruising with my wife without breaking the bank.

Really enjoyed reading all the responses. I have had dreams of owning a newer vette at times but there is something that captures me with my C4. Just cannot justify spending more on a newer one when I get so much back with the C4. Who knows what the future holds but really feel like the C8 will be a game changer so the C5, C6 and C7 should continue to drop in value for sometime.

Yes I would. Either another 96 LT4 or a ZR1.

Yes I would. Currently own a 1992 Quasar blue 6-speed, which I love. Would totally buy a ZR-1 as my next Corvette.
