Old C4 for a daily driver?

If I end getting the car I will take it to a mechanic, I will ask about the maintenance history, its owned by a lady in her mid 60's, I was thinking of fluids too, we work on our cars me and my dad but I am not sure how friendly is the Corvette compared to our Toyotas and ford.
As to how friendly the C4 is, I suppose it depends. Some things are a PITA some, better.

I would NOT. First off, if he doesn't consent to a PDI, I would end the conversation. Secondly, I don't want his mechanic. I want someone else. You don't want me to accuse you of owing me money with my wife as arbiter, do you?

My wife DD a 1994 and there are no problems. The car was lowed and the ride is rough but she loves the car anyway. She has a backup car which is also a LT1 1997 Camaro, she likes the vette

Would I rely out it as my ONLY mode of transportation? No, but then again I am someone who wouldn't do that with a new car either, I always have a back up to drive. With that being said, I daily mine spring-fall and just got back from a 1851 mile 3 day road trip across several states and in the smokey mountains and it handled it well. Anything old has the potential for issues, if you know how to work on stuff yourself and have all the tools to do so at the end of the day its just a basic chevy 350, will run for a long time with minimal issues.
I enjoy daily driving my 1980s rattle trap, but I also have a 2017 work truck F150 and Ducati monster 821 I can take when I don't feel like driving it. I've put 10k miles on mine since purchase last July for the total of 117k on the car currently.

Should I not walk, but run from this Vette?:

I know it's nearly impossible for you to know exactly via looking at pictures, but in general - assuming the car was solid (pressure check is what you would make certain it has??) - if I wanted to toss them a cash offer, where would you be with a cash offer?

I dont think that's a bad car. Its prices about right too, low miles and a stick. You could hit them with 5k and see if they take it, I wouldnt be surprised if that was a firm price though

Heck if anything I was going to hit them with a $4000 cash offer. Couldn't hurt.
Got too much on my plate at this moment though so I don't even know if I'm going to drive the 30 miles to even see the car.
The interior does look to be in pretty good condition though as far as the pics show.

Is the stock engines in the Vette of stock '84-96. the same engine in the Camaro. Of those years?

'84, same EFI, but Camaro was 305 only
85-86, Camaro had TPI, but 305 only
'87-'92, Camaro 350 TPI had iron heads
'92 'Vette got LT1...Camaro got it next year.
Camaro never actually had the SAME engine as the 'Vette until the 'LT1

I probably would've spent a little more money and bought a C5 if I had to do it over again, honestly. The C4 is a fun beater, but it's not very...well, fast. Even LT1 cars are only about as fast as a new 4-cylinder Mustang. It's a great car if you want random dudes to start conversations with you, though. And it's a good car for the money.
In my year of ownership, I've probably averaged 15 mpg in mixed driving and have had one major issue: the Opti on my car failed, which cost me about $1400 for P&L. That said, the car had around 120k miles on it when I bought it. I'd say that my experience so far has been mostly pleasant, but I could see old and/or fat guys having difficulty entering and exiting C4s because of the high doorsill. Make sure that the weatherstripping is in good condition before you buy the car because parts will run several hundred dollars and it's a pain in the *** to replace. The front spoiler scrapes on everything. Avoid cars with aftermarket wheels or shitty mods: my car has a loud, droney exhaust system that I didn't really think would bother me, but it's really ******* annoying if I have to drive the car more than around town. The tilt steering column on these cars often gets loose because of fat guys using the wheel as leverage to get out of the car, which can be spooky if you're driving aggressively.
Not saying not to buy one, but understand that you're buying an old Chevy which was first produced in the 80s. If you're adamant about a C4, I'd get a later model because of the airbags, ABS, and traction control (not to mention 60 more HP in '92 and a 6-speed starting in '89).
