Thank you thank you hans! I’m a lucky guy so I’ll bet it’s the oil pan bolts nothing more. Looking forward to spending some time with this car other than in the driver seat. Which sounds kind of funny. Most of the time all I want to do is drive it. In this circumstance I really have not had a chance to look at anything other than the steering wheel and the gauge!
3 1/2 hours from home now. It looks like I can see the cloud bank in front of me for the rain that my wife has been warning me about. i’m a lucky guy so I’ll bet it’s the oil pan bolts nothing more. My 86 track car is up on my left in my own garage and I have not cleared space beside it for the z yet. was a spontaneous buy! So when I arrive home to Calgary Alberta I will be parking it in my parents garage as they are out at the cabin. I should have a few weeks of that parking space.
The last few hours are messing with my eyelids. I’m definitely feeling the miles. Time for some good music. I’ll touch base with a photo of my first ZR one Tucked in the garage before the night is out.
Here is a photo of western Saskatchewan province in Canada. In days gone by these fields were covered in Buffalo.
Some people, like my mother, enjoy the prairies. Personally I could do without them. At least driving through them anyways. I prefer either the Rocky Mountains or the Canadian shield. I guess that means I was not a farmer in a previous life.

As a kid i never understood why they named it moosejaw.
But it makes for a great photo op. Very Canadian. As I was driving through the Canadian shield a couple nights ago, I passed three! Moose on the side of the road. That was a little disconcerting as in a vette I think it would be instantaneous sayonara. Lucky for me I reached my destination shortly after dusk.
Here is the moves that will not walk out on the road in front of you. I know my girls at home are going to love this one! We stop here all the time on our way to the cabin and back.
At Moose jaw Saskatchewan they are very serious about moose. They even named their hockey team after the moves. And then the local McDonald’s even made a display. About moose. Or meese as it were.
I do not know what the white and black moose fighting signifies. But I’m sure it probably offends some snowflake somewhere. It’s actually kind of cool to see the mcdonald’s are rolling with a little bit of local Decour.

Home safe.
Home safe in Calgary Canada.
And yes it is snowing this morning so very pleased with the decision to high tail it across the praries home.
Ive now owned 3 early c4’s, an 85 z51 auto, 86 base 4+3, and an 87 z52 auto.
Raining cats and dogs when pulled up but the 315’s only broke loose on the ring road once.
I will see this thread through to the end by including some a few posts about any damage that the car incurred along the huge 4743 km trip. The car did take some damage, i’ll share that with you on this trip.
Furthermore im looking forward to sharing my initial thoughts on the real world tangible differences in the driving experience between the 91 zr1 and the 3 early model cars ive had. (still have the 87 and the 86).
So hang in there on this thread and we will do some followup posting with more pics and some videos.
the car had zero water leaks!!!!!
charlotetown to toronto (by previous owner) toronto to sault st marie to ignace to winnipeg to calgary by me

Great trip, story and pictures! You have driven that car in a week more than some guys guys drive their vette in a year or two, nice work.
Glad you made it home safely.

update
hi all, right now i am putting the last kibbles and bit of my 86 track car back together in the evenings. (i'll be honest though, after driving the Z, i think im just going to sell my L98's) Once that is done, should be wrapped up this evening, then i'll bring the Z home to my place (parked in storage since i arrived home) and we can put it up on the lift and I can share a couple of things i noticed, like the tires i think i wrecked driving home...because i had 18psi in my rear tires...flame away...i was so excited...i did check my oil and fluids in the engine bay but i never checked my tire pressure.
I have a small oil leak to inspect, I'll bring you guys with me under the lift to check that out, and i have the infl rest light to fix.
More soon!

The ZR-1 is one of the cars I would like to own too. I have never driven one but if I sell mine I will start searching for a 1990 that’s the year ZR-1 I like.
Congratulations again

If you were mostly driving highway miles, I bet 18psi didn't hurt the rear tires. This is especially true if the temps were fairly low, as it appears they were.

Tires are probably fine, IMO.
