Can't get c4 to start. Have tried everything.
I have an 86 c4 corvette that wont start. It has run fine for a long while, then while driving it began to run terrible. Shaking, inconsistant idle, and it did not want to rev. After parking it, it will not start. It cranks at the usual speed, but does not even make an attempt to fire.
What i have tried:
Starting fluid directly in the throttle body.
I can hear the fuel pump for a few seconds when the key turns on, and there is preasure at the rail.
It has spark and the plugs look good.
The rocker arms are moving, so i believe the timing chain is ok.
The injectors plugs are pulsing with power.
No check engine light. The diagnosis port showed that it was clear.
What am i missing? I originally believed it to be bad gas, but it should at least sputter with starting fluid, shouldn't it?
Absolutely any advice is greatly appreciated.

Maybe the distributor shifted and you lost spark timing. But you would expect at least a misfire.
Scarier option, timing chain jumped a tooth. If you have the valve cover off, set to TDC and check Valve positions on No. 1.

Wow. I really hope that isn't the case. I will check on it tomorrow. If it is off, i'm pretty much going to have to tear the whole engine down, right? Could it be done in the car?

Pull a plug or two. If wet, you have an ignition problem. If dry, no fuel.

It turned out to be the distributor cap / rotor. The were a tad burned and it was making good spark at all the plugs, so i would have never assumed that they were the problem, but after a replacement she runs perfectly again. Thank you all for your responses and ideas!
