Want to get an idea value wise. Didn't post in C5 forum because I don't know any of the peeps there.
Was talking to the neighbor. He's got a 2002 A4 C5. I asked him if it's for sale and he said yes. I asked why and he said everything is for sale. The last time I talked to him, I asked how much he had to pay for it. He said, $13,500. It's got 75,000 miles and looks absolutely mint. He just put on new pilot sports ($1,400). He's the 3rd owner. What's he's saying is everything is as new. Going to go for a test drive next time I see him. What's it worth?
My racing partner traded in her 2002 Pewter 6M on a 2019 Grand Sport. She received $10,000 for the trade in. Dealership then sold it after about 6 months for $15,000. So your number is in the middle. Don't know if I would want a convertible. Her's was in good shape also.

If you know he paid $13.5 for it, why would you offer to pay more? He had to put tires on it either way... thats not a cost you should incur.
I haven't offered anything. Let me ask you this. If you bought this car a few months ago for $13,500 and put $1,400 in new tires, would you sell it for less than you paid for it. You see, he's not looking to sell, but as his wife say's, that's the way he is. He never hangs onto anything. I'm the one who asked if he's ready to sell yet.The bottom feeders that think anything over $10k for a C5 is too much, it's all about condition, right.

First, $13.5 is not less than he paid for it... it IS what he paid for it. Second, I would not expect to get a buyer to pay for a wearable item that should be in good shape to begin with. Its kind of like putting all new brake pads and rotors on a car and expecting to recoup that money... not gonna happen.
Ask him if you can take the car to a reputable auto repair shop and have them do a Used Vehicle Inspection. For around $150, you get a written estimate of any repair(s) and overall condition. Get any error codes stored in the computer to see what problems have cropped up. Check the brakes (the red calipers have either been replaced with Z06 calipers or painted), all of the fluids, and the alignment. Looks like it has the original exhaust and is not lowered.
From the pics, it looks like a nice well-kept car. How's the interior? Any wear on the seats? If everything checks out, a selling price of $13K to 14K would be reasonable. Does he have the title in his name?

Its its worth what it’s worth. If you want to pay 15k for it that is what it’s worth. That’s what it sounds like you are willing to pay. That’s average for a c5.
C5's with manuals are worth about $1500 more than automatic's and are normally much easier to sell.
Load the app Corvette DNA on your smart phone and it will give you a baseline of what a Corvette is worth. The app is not perfect but it does provide a lot of useful information.
Looks like a very nice well maintained car. I like the color and of course it's a vert. Best thing is, if we make a deal, I'll have time to move the C4. I'm not sold on the idea manuals are worth more. It's all personal preference, right. For one, manuals require more maintenance and suck in big cities when your my age. Anyways, will keep people posted on what transpires.
I think if you paid 14 to 15k fir it, you wouldnt be doing half bad. There are certainly more screaming deals out there, but this is a fair price.
Well for one, he's not in any hurry to sell. He lives a stones throw away. Can't wait to inspect further than skin deep and to take it for a spin. The paint on it looked perfect. Need to inspect the frontal area for paint chips. Didn't get to spend a lot of time with the car as he was busy. I know $15k won't be no killer deal, but you get what you pay for. Glad it's a 2002 and not a 97,98,99 or 2000.
