Never mind it’s a cruise control servo. However the cruise is not operational anyway so do i need to replace this?

Depend upon whether the module is working or not. It looks like that all is wrong is a rusted broken link to the cable.

Look as all it needs is a new piece of pull chain . Not sure of proper adjustment but a guess would be minor slack. That is definitely a reason the cruise isn't working may be more problems though. If you're not interested in the cruise working no need to do anything. HTH.

If the part inside the boot is in tact you may be able to pick a cable & boot at a Vette bone-yard.

Default It's called "Servo Chain"

I'm resurrecting this thread because I have the exact same problem today and the OP didn't get an answer ,,, I found an answer but not a GM part number. The FSM calls it "servo chain" .

The chain comes as part of the servo, not as a separate part. If both retainers for the chain are intact you can buy a section of chain.
here is what aservo looks like when it's unboxed

It's called Beaded Chain and you can get it at a "good old" hardware store or search McMaster Carr website for beaded chain.

Pretty sure you can use a piece from a ceiling fan pull chain, i never install the chain for the light as it's controlled from the wall.
