Condition and maintenance history are very important on these because cost to bring a tired example up to an acceptable level will quickly exceed a great example. The cost just to repaint a C4 at a reputable body shop will by itself almost exceed the cost of the entire car.

How about giving us at least some basic information like price/miles/condition/colors etc on the cars to compare?

93? Your original post said 2 96痴 or are you comparing a 93 and 96? I think $13,900 for a 93 is high even with 27k mi

At 13k , unless a ZR1, the car should not have obvious flaws and minimal wear. You will also want in pre purchase inspection. You should be flipping the bill for that. Since you want the inspector looking after your interests not sellers.

I will say that $13,900 is a lot for a '93 coupe. You are in nice C5 territory for that kind of money. For that kind of money you should be looking at a low mileage '96 LT4 or low mileage 6pd anniversary edition or vert with an added hard top etc.

I really like the white or silver cars with red interiors but just keep in mind that the average C5 has been dropping in price which puts downward pressure on the C4. I would highly recommend giving yourself at least 3-6 months to look and drive before you pull the trigger.

One example of why I am happy I waited and made sure I was getting the right fit was because I found the sport seats in the '95 were so much easier to get in and out of for my 6' 4" body. I would have ended getting a C5 had I not found out about the available sport seats on the '94 - '96 models so it really pays to give yourself a time period to really check them out. You might find that the C5 is a better fit for you but will not know if you have not compared.

A really nice vette in person can put the best of us in a trance so very important you give yourself a time period to look at many examples in person. If one sells while your are doing this there will be another one to come along.

look under the battery tray for signs of corrosion. Inspect carpet area, especially on passenger side footwell for signs of past water damage, usually from clogged A/C plenum drains backing up water. It is very common for the not very thick plastic on the console and console lid to be cracked; replacements are available. On a lift check the underside of the floorboards for signs of impact, not uncommon on a C4. Ditto on the oil pan. Is the steering wheel / tilt mechanism tight? Weather stripping is always an issue. Door sagging on hinges, especially drivers door? Is the spare tire and carrier still on the car? Headliners tend to sag. Is the wrench that bolts and unbolts the top still with the car? Are the drains around the gas cap well clear and free of debris? I can go on, but I don't want to discourage you. You can get a hell of a car for the price of an used Toyota.
