I agree. I was just waiting for the experts there to say, What have you done?" Their justification for the modern upgrades were not very rational. I did like some of the designs, ie. higher front fender humps and sharper edge in the rear 1/4, but the rest should have just stayed in their heads.

Thanks, I was going to look for that on the "tube" and post. Your version is the truth.

You can probably find one on Craig'slist for about 4K or less that's very similar. I didn't like it and wasn't impressed with any of it.

Hideous.

I don't care what gen, what car, who did it....when you overlay material over the stock hatch glass, make it look different....that is a half assed FAIL. That is not car design, that is hack.

A few previous posts alluded to this but in my opinion this was a joke. I don't care how "important" this guy is/was in the Corvette world. The end product was hideous. If I saw this same car for sale on my local craigslist for $5000 I wouldn't even click on the thumbnail to see the rest of the ad....this guy does it and we are supposed to think it is visionary? During the reveal Danny from Kounts Kustoms almost laughed when they drove that pile in the door.

Wheels are current, those aren't " wire mags" from the 80's. Spokes don't cross each other. IMO the Split window ( theme) is way over rated, it's only popular because it was a one and done. I like air extractors on the fender. Might not have got much co operation from Chevrolet; if they discussed the targa fiasco.

Just watched it. The split window treatment was hideous. Looked like the tacked on part it was. The wheels were not only not period correct but the offset did not go with the added flaring of the wheel arches. The analogue gauges were not period correct. The 80's were all about digital displays. As ground breaking as the C4 was for its time, it would not have carried over any C3 styling cues. This car was a failure IMHO.

The wheels are C6 ZR1 wheels I have the same wheels on my C5 except black
Love the wheels just NOT on a car that’s supposed to be a “vision of a 83”

Just got done watching for the second time now, and having owned C4 for 24 years, I appreciate the work that went into it, only thing I wasn't thrilled was rear window.

It was nice seeing a show for change about our love of Corvettes. You notice not to many shows out there of Corvette so I appreciated the making of the show and car.

I caught a few minutes and realized it was just another "hack" that they do so turned to GMG...

Thanks to the Corvette Museum for posting up the official story on the C3.

Yep. I should have just continued watching the 2nd hr. of GMG. It was probably better.

I watched it on demand thru Philo. Nice for a custom C4 but I just don't think it was a good representation of an 83. More like a 96 and a half maybe. Though the split window was a good representation of the 63 it, IMHO, just didn't work on a C4.

Hideous. On all aspects. Made for TV drama when the Pro Charger kit "doesn't fit". Yeah. They only sold a few thousand of those kits. LOL.

At the end of the show, they claim the car won the "427 Award". Twice. Anybody know what that is?

My favorite part of the show was when the guy tried to talk them out of a shitty fiberglass add-on to simulate the split window.
He made perfect sense, and in the end he was 100% right.

My second favorite part was the look on Danny's (Kount's Kustoms) face when the thing rolled in.
HE HATED IT!!!!!

This show was just another DIY hack job my minimal interest was lost when they relocated the battery to the cockpit
instead of scoring the correct size battery.

I'm thanking Mother Nature & a new pair of boots for saving the only 83. Thanks NCM for the vid.

If they had done something like this I think it would have been more accepted. This is on a C6 but I think the concept would have worked better than trying to go for a split window effect

On some level it was entertaining, just barely though. Typical "reality" tv, they'd get more work done if they weren't complaining about not having enough time. Blah.
Wish they had made one called "Lost Pinto" it would've been more entertaining IMHO.
