Default turn signal indicator

So the green arrows on dash of my 89 drop top only illuminate when the car is in the garage but don't illuminate when outside. Fortunately the outside signals are still illuminating. I would normally expect a photocell dimmer circuit as the culprit but one would expect that the whole digital display would darken but it does not? What's up with that?

I think you've identified the problem. Those TS lights are a bit on the dim side. You might try fitting some aluminum foil behind the lamps to act as reflectors, to brighten things up a bit! Does anyone know if there are LED lamps available that would fit?

I believe the xenon lamps are only for illumination of the display, not for the turn signal indicators.
