Default Silver a factory 85 color?

Saw a neat 85 on CL...had a new paint job with some 80sish lower striping, enkei type wheels.
Havent even seen this 88 off and already looking, its a disease. .
May go look at it, cant remember if it was a manual or not. If it is may just grab it.

The 89-90 manual cars Im seeing are askng too much and arent even nice.

Thanks...this is the car I saw.
Seen lots of paint schemes like this back in the day did dealers offer them like this?

Little more miles than I like...and auto but for an errand car dont mind too much.
INterior looks excellent, paint is brand new. Little high on $ but caught my eye...love manual ac
Goofy exhaust can be fixed
Gears and a shift kit would spice it up. I cannever make my mind up...but that 89 6 spd..vert may be more than I have to spend.

The two tone brown was a factory option, and IMHO looked great then, and even better now when you see a real clean example. I don't think that it's a bad thing when an 80's car has an 80's look....To me , that's kinda the point....

The two tone 87 above is obviously not factory, and it's hard to judge how it truly looks without seeing the car in its entirety.....A Completely new paint job is a plus, IF it was done correctly, and a not worth pursuing if done amateurishly....

I'm not feeing those pipes....If ya like it, take it out for a Rip, and see if YOU ARE FEELING IT because that's all that matters!!

Well in that case, silver metallic was a factory color in 1987 too....RPO code 13U.

89 6 spd vert maybe a 90 is what I really want;
So hard to find a seller who isnt completely full of it. They are desirable C4s but not some big buck collector.

Contacted seller of the 87...prior owner put some love into it ...fix the pipes and stance it could be a decent cruiser for someone

I'm not sure what you mean by a seller full of it? does that mean the price is to high? I had an 89 convertible car with a ZF 6spd for years, the car was sold for 6 grand, and was in less than fair condition,
It had 115k on it, the interior was poor, aftermarket radio, seat covers, air didn't work, heater core was shot and bypassed, and the cars rubber seals were all bad. but the car ran well. I knew putting the money into that car would have me upside down in a few months. But it was a solid car, and I took care of it the best I could. I was at the crossroads, do I put 5 or 6 grand in it to make it right>? with 115k on the clock? or take the cash and buy another car in better shape for the same money...either way you pay.

so i sold it, saved up bought my 96 convertible 6spd, with 21k miles, in excellent condition, and everything works. I think I'm going to be ok with this car. I didn't pay what the asking price was, but I didn't insult the man, or his car either. I know im going to catch some hell over this, but im tired of hearing how cheap these cars are supposed to be! I think we have undersold ourselves in the C4 market.

If my 89 car had 70k miles, and everything worked i wouldn't have sold it for less than 9 or 10 grand, and if nobody wanted it . So be it!

What I mean is its true condition and needs.
Should they sell for more maybe? The audience or popularity just doesnt seem to be there most want an ls car
I was lucky to get 5k for mine..low book is 7400 but doesnt mean someone will pay it...nobody would lol.
Thats why I wont pay much unless its super nice/ 6k sounds decent for your convertible given its needs
Theres a red 87 convertible some guy on CL is asking 3900 more of a parts car. No engine trans paint and interior thrashed...doubt it sells.
Only got 5 for mine and its fairly clean. Same car 1 yr newer

That 87 would make a good driver with 1 or 2 changes but with 111k he may have a tough time getting 7k

Your right of course, C4 cars just never came to the party, im nearly 60 yrs old, and i seen these Iconic vettes of the past, was in them and drove some, yet those cars laying in literal piles and boxes, in the most dire condition, STILL fetch more money than a mint C4 corvette with hardly any miles, plus the C4 cars handle and drive better than any of them. And the newest C4 car is still a classic at 25 yrs old!

Just burns my britches

Anyway just venting

Thanks

Chris
