Getting rid of the Breadbox on my '85
Came across an interior pic of a guy with an '85 just like mine. He removed the black bread box and replaced it with a flat black panel insert which I think I'd like in mine. Does anyone know of a kit I can buy for this type of interior mod?

They should be in any of the vette catalogs, Ecklers, MidAmerica.

They used to make a glove box that replaced the bread box kinda made that space useful but I can't find any one who has them anymore.

yea they have the glove box one and there is one that has a pouch that acts like one too :cheers:

Breadbox? I always thought it was an early version of an airbag (but just for the passenger :confused: )
...it is kinda ugly looking, bulky, and useless. Unless someone can explain its function to me :)

what will you do with all that extra space you gain from removing that safety device? that adds a good 3 inches of unusable space.
