Hello all,
Just wanted to share about trying to get a new tire put on the Vette. It turned into a hassle since I apparently have misplaced the wheel lock key. My right front tire is wearing on the outside(it's almost bald) and the car pulls to the left. I'm hoping a new tire(others are new) and a fresh 4 wheel alignment will help. At any rate, step one is to remove the lug nuts. I used a 15/16" deep well socket and sledge hammered it (gently of course) over the wheel lock nut. All four were done in 5 minutes. This worked for me so I thought I'd pass it on. You guys are great! :flag
I had to do the same thing a couple of years ago. I lost the wheel lock. Used a smallar socket and a hammer. So much for wheel locks saving your wheels from being stolen. Happen to me twice, on 2 differant cars. So now I quit using wheel locks. Heck if I can beat them off in a few minutes, what good are they. :smash:
