93 octane. Is it available in California? I can only find 91 Max
I hear of some people who use higher octane fuel. Where can I find that in California? Of course, with 91 going for about $2.35 a gallon now, I probably shouldn't be asking for a place that charges even more, but still, do any stations sell high octane gas?

Yeah, you can only get the 91 crap in CA. And they also ship it out to NV and AZ. So if you want higher octane you'll have to find a place that sells 100 octane racing gas, like the Union 76 station, and mix with the 91 :yesnod:
Good luck

no offense, but your car probably doesn't need anything higher than 91. If its not pinging then you don't need higher octane. It can actually rob you of power b/c the gas burns to slow. If you add a blower or no2 then yea get higher octane gas, otherwise its a waste of money.
I run a mix of 114 leaded/93 pump. My car has some driveability problems around town, it will occasionally stall at stoplights when I put the clutch in.

This won't help you in California, but Cenex stations / AMPride have 94 octane. Currently it is about 4 cents more than other stations 92 octane a gallon for me.
They have a website you can go to lookup your state and then city for locations. From their homepage chose Convenience Stores on the red header bar, then on the drop down menu chose Retail Locations.

You can go to your local municipal airport and get aviation fuel (100 octane) and then mix it with 91. You will pay a little more for avgas but it is a solution if that is what you are after. :auto:

You can go here and do a search for 76 stations with racing fuel.
It is always available. Every now and then I will mix some 100 Octane before I go to the track.

Last time I got some it was $5.29 a gallon...
