Update: "Free" $7 Corvette Performance Manual from Pro-Tech and corvetteweb.com
Here's the original thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=662220
In a nutshell, I disputed the charge (it was the principle) with my credit card company and was issued a credit which is fine but what made it particularily satisfying is that Visa/MC charge the vendors $25 per chargeback. So I got my seven bucks back and it cost Pro-Tech $25 for ignoring my emails asking that they refund my money. Take that, you scalawags!

Sorry for causing you such a headache. I forgot about the post so I was happy you included it in this thread. All small blocks are the same. :mad The LT1 is not like every small block! I was laughing about that post! Well, at least you got your money back and shafted them! May teach them not to screw with Palm Beach County!

Re: Update: "Free" $7 Corvette Performance Manual from Pro-Tech and corvetteweb.com (Whitvette)
No apology necessary! To save any subsequent readers the time it takes to scroll through that thread, I'll paste in my reply to the original post below:
EDIT:
FYI, it's my understanding that if you contest ANY MC/Visa/Discover transaction and win, then the merchant is going to get charged $25. Also, if they exceed a certain chargeback/transaction ratio, their transaction costs go up and/or their merchant accounts are cancelled...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well, I said I'd update the thread once I got the "manual" and so here's the update:
A RIP-OFF TO BE PROUD OF!
The whole thing was thirteen pages long with eight of them having to do with the C4 and five covering the C5. IF anyone wants a copy, let me know and I'll scan it and email it to you in a PDF. But in a nutshell, according to Pro-Tech Enterprises, this is how you get another 100 HP out of your C4:
1) cut lid
2) K&N
3) remove MAF screens on L98
4) clean throttle body and plates with Gumout
5) throttle body air foil (damn! and I just gave mine away)
6) replace fuel filter
7) replace spark plug wires (as well as rotor and cap on L98)
8) replace spark plugs with Rapid Fires (quote: "If you have never wrestled with spark plugs before, don't worry. On a small block Chevy all the plugs are relatively easy to get to")
9) Sears DieHard battery
10) ADS or Hypertech power chip
11) 160 T-stat and reprogrommed fans
12) Dynomax mufflers and Y pipe (quote: "don't get talked into installing the Flowmasters or Borla systems")
Again, a direct quote from the manual: "So there you have it, folks. The above modifications will give the average L98 an increase of about 100 horsepower. It will blow the doors off any Mustang or made in Japan rice burner. With a total of about 350 horsepower on demand it will even give the king of the road ZR-1 a run for its money."

That only adds up to 94 h.p. I believe the other 6 comes from the decal you get with the manual. You did get your decal, did'nt you?

They don't mention it, but you need the DieHard Gold battery.
The DieHard Silver only adds 10 hp.
