Removing bolts from the cats without breaking them?
I'm trying to remove my exhaust pipes so I can replace the driveshaft u joints. Does anyone know how to remove the three bolts from the rear of the cat without breaking them? I've sprayed them with liquid wrench. Any other thoughts? :banghead:

If that doesn't do it, you may have to heat them up. Most of my experience with exhaust bolts is once they are heated up with a small torch, they will come off without breaking. But, will need to be replaced with good grade 8 anyway if they are that bad.

Carefull, when I put my Corsa's on I broke all three of those little suckers, major pain in the back side to get them out after that.

I've had good luck with "P-B" as a penetrating lubricant to break loose rusted nuts and bolts. I can't remember what the "P-B" stands for but it's ... something "buster" in a yellow can with red and black writing.
It is used by the guys on "Two guy's garage" on discovery channel.
Hope this helps.
BTW, with PB spray it, hit the head of the bolt with a hammer a few times and let do it's work for an hour or so. It should break it loose.
I have had much better luck with the PB than WD-40.
Mike.
