Let me preface this with "I was late for work".

Back in the day, when the California Highway Patrol ran Ford Mustang "pursuit cars" , I was headed uphill into the Sierra's in my little chevy with what was essentially a carbureated version of an L98 when I noticed a red light waay back there; I slowed to 55 mph; the Highway Patrolman actually thanked me for slowing down since I had been pulling away from him.
