i did ask this in the c3 section but someone pointed out to me that c4 's had the lt1 engines ..SO,... i ask,. how does one refinish an ugly looking set of nice magnesium covers from a 93 lt1,..can the original paint be bought to match?

Both Corvette Central and Mid America Motorsports sell paint that will match the original color. Degrease them, sand them down and paint with several light coats. They will look like new. :flag
When I had the covers off my '88 a few years ago I painted them with two cans of the paint from MAM. I degreased them, sanded with 220 grit, cleaned with laquer thinner and shot several medium coats of the color (no primer), wet sanding with 220 grit between coats.
I had them off a copla weeks ago and just cleaned them up and polished with NXT (it's true) and they look fine.
