Would/did you save your orig tires?
Eventually we will have to replace our original rubber with something, most OEM tires aren't made any more. Did or would you save those worn Goodyears for some sort of future classic car show, to put back on to show originality?

Yup, that is exactly what I did. With half tread life remaining, I replaced them and the perfect condition OEM wheels with new wheels and tires.
The originals are stored in a temperature and humidty controlled environment. The Tires with age would not be safe for the road, but they will be great for shows.

I still have my original wheels and tires with 15,000 miles on them sitting in my shed, but I am not saving them for some sort of future classic car show, or to put them back on to show originality. Its because I'm to lazy to try and sell them. I really don't feel like finding boxes for them, so I'll keep them unless I need some cash.

I don't have my original tires, but I do have the original air filter cover, air filter, distributor cap, plug wires, serpentine belt, gas cap, and misc other stuff I have replaced and/or updgraded. My intention inititally was to keep them around as "emergency" spares. Maybe they'll add to the restoration value of the car if I keep for another 50 years or so...

I still have my original wheels and tires (and tire pressure sensors), although I believe one of the wheels and tires was actually replaced around 8,000 miles (about 11,000 total on the set, now). I didn't keep them specifically for a show or anything, I just like to have all the original pieces - I've still got my original exhaust and whatnot (even the original battery, but it's no good). On a car this special to me, I like to keep the original pieces

I replaced my GS-C's (at about 9,000 miles, but seven years old) with F1's. The whole story of the hassle I had with the steel belts interfering with the underpowered sensor transmitters has been posted here before. Anyway, I stored the original tires in plastic bags, after cleaning and bathing them in ArmorAll, for two years. When I sold Wendy, the new owner was very happy to get them.
