What kind of wiper blades
I know this is kind of stupid, but I am very new to cars in general. I am wondering what kind of blades I should buy for my 96? Also how hard are they to change? I live in southern california and only suffer occasional showers, but I would like to get a good blade none the less.
Thanks for your help guys.

With the C-4 wiper clash issue, I'd get the blades from the Chevy dealer. If you want to save a few dollars, go to Pontiac and get the blades for a 1996 Pontiac Firebird. They will fit, too.

There was a fix in 96 models that altered the arms and blades to resolve the wiper crashing problem.
The 96 blades are slightly shorten than previous models and have the metal portion of the blade recessed into the rubber to ensure only a rubber to rubber hit would occur if there was a collision.
I would recommend staying with the GM brand, check with Chris at Superior or GMPartDirect.com if you need the part numbers I have them. I upgraded my 93 to the 96 arm and blade to resolve this collision issue.
And there is a difference between the left blade and right blade. Mixing them up will also cause a collision.

The "wiper crash problem" - wow I thought maybe it was just mine. Had my '88 for four days now. Rained yesterday and the wipers were a disaster!
Thought maybe the prior owner might have installed the wrong ones somewhere along the way - which is still possible - gonna check that this weekend.
So is this something we just live with or is there a real fix?

I had Autozone blades on my 96 and they still crashed into each other and they would not fit to well under the hood. I bought the GM blades from the dealer (not the AC Delco blades) and no more crash and they fit tightly under the hood.
