I consider myself pretty lucky. It could have been much worse.

I took my car out for an early Sunday drive to Tangers on Long Island, and walked around, but I never took my eyes off the car. It's a shame that some people react to works of art in that manner. Glad to hear the paint came off easily.

There's one way to catch 'em, if they try it again (might come back, got away with it once, nice clean car now) ... There are camera systems you can install into your car (about $400 - I think) that'll pick up anyone walking around/tagging cars and catch them in the act.

Someone keyed mine- back and forth across the hood and down one door, across the deck, and down the other door- and then hit it with something in the rear. I have no idea who would do this, but now that I'm in graduate school (for psyche) I've learned that some people feel that they are being denied something by the world, and they have to lash out at someone who has what they want in order to feel vindicated. It's wrong, pathetic, and doesn't accomplish anything, but they feel it "gets back" at the world for denying them. The best thing that can happen to someone who does things like this, is to find out that their actions are harmful to others and also to themselves, especially when they are shot dead by a potential victim. -J

Could have also been the "it's Halloween!" b.s. excuse used by many punks who do this kind of crap. My neighborhood also had a rash of vandalism over the weekend, too. Oh, and it WILL come back to whoever did this, sooner or later.
