Thanks for the great advic 87CLWY! I looked up some local upholsterers, and I found a local guy who mostly does marine upholstering, but also works on cars. Anyway, he was abe to repair the seam without taking the seat out, and he would only take $20.00 bucks for the repair. I almost fell over when he told me how much. Perfect job. He's been doing this for 30 years. When I told him that I wanted to swap seats, he offered to do it for a reasonable fee.
He's located on Long Island, New York, in the Patchogue area. If anyone would like more information, I would be more than happy to provide it upon request.

You're welcome, I'm happy to hear it all worked out so well. The guy I took mine to charged $30, I was a shocked as you are. He's been around for a long time and I find a lot of these smaller shops do great work at really reasonable prices.
