If someone ever runs into mine it'll inevitably be some slug with no insurance and an address that turns out to be the abandoned K-Mart here. Good luck with the repairs.

That's what happens when you don't think about defensive driving.

Hippiehead - trucks are bigger than vettes, let them back out.

For what it's worth, I agree. Let her live, so she can realize what she did.

Theres no need to cut out the repair area. It can be repaired in place. The facia will be replaced.
Thats not much of a hit. More of a bump.
Repair will run $1600-2500.

You can't kill people for making a mistake if that was the case this would be a barren planet.

The Knuckle drivers are here!!!! We need to be very careful and watch everybody!!! I feel sooooo small when I'm in the Vette, I have never seen so many people that don't remove the wax from just under their door moldings before... but then again I have never sat on the pavement to look before.

My damage was much worse. One thing-it's not fiberglass-it's SMC. What I found was most shops r/r because they can't or don't want to guarantee the patch work. I've seen what I would consider great patching and painting-end up showing down the line. Just tell them you want it done right.

Actually, she had no insurance. My ins. company knows this and plans to get their money back from HER personally. She was ticketed and impounded.

Yea, but you get to pay the deductable! Normally I would prob just say accidents happen... Not happy .... but its an accident. NO INSURANCE!!! I would be totally off the wall!!! That really sucks and I think you are taking it quite well. I had a guy rearend my 2003 Sierra a month ago and I was pretty calm about it... but the Vette... I would be alittle more upset, and when I found out they had no insurance... OMG LOOKOUT MEET THE MADMAN!!!!!

Sorry to see that... It is a good thing you didn't kill her. I had a friend that was T-boned by a pizza delivery guy. He found out he didn't have insurance and proceeded to beat the pizza guy senseless. The pizza guy was at fault for running a red light, but was awarded no fault, my friend got no $$$ and had to pay the pizza guy for damages!!! That's crap!!!

sorry to see that. IMHO older people 70 and older should not be allowed to get a driver license.

I wouldn't go that far... but they should do a retest after a certain age and then be retested every so often after that.
