Default Use GMPartsDirect.com?

I am looking for a replacement waterpump for my '92. Anyone buy from GMPartsDirect.com? I want a new waterpump, not a remanufactured one. 132 bucks is a good price, but I want to make sure.

The shipping charge is fine, it's the handling. You will still get a great price. I've shopped around and GM Parts Direct is the easiest and quickest.

So, I should have no fear that the waterpump will be reman, but rest comfortanbly that it will be new?

It should be new and comes with a 1 year warranty.. I had an LT5 pump from GMParts go bad about two weeks after I install (pulley came off the shaft).. I removed it and took it and the receipt to my local GM dealer and they replaced it.

Wow - you didn't have to send it back from whence it came - that is good!
Gotta go buy a waterpump, Thanks everyone!!!

here is the score with GMPartsDirect S&H policy...

They hit you for 6.95 for every single item you order... I had $56.00 in S&H for my coils when I did the LTCC order last year.

That ain't gonna happen again.

Call Chris May at 1-800-728-8267 - Superior Chevy in KC, KS. Tell him your are a forum member. In the long run, it will be cheaper.

Default Don't be in a hurry to get the parts

Also don't be in a hurry to get your parts or you'll be REALLY disappointed. It took 2 weeks for me to get a simple spindle rod. It has been that way with MOST ALL parts I've ordered from then. I've been really pleased with the prices though past that, other than handling fee.

I have never had a problem with the shipping time from gmpartsdirect.com. I have ordered many parts from them in the past, but not in the last year or so.
I always found gmpartsdirect to come out cheaper than the rest even after the handling charges.
Just my 2 cents.

I have purchased several parts from them. Everything goes good. But Don't plan on sending anything back...check their return policy. Also, if you really need to talk to someone who knows parts, they only email.

They are the worst for shipping. Make sure its in stock too. they won't even tell you about a backorder unless you inquire.

Ah, that's the other reference I remember seeing - may be prudent to go that route, thanks.

Chris May is the best. He has helped me a couple of times recently with some hard to find (in Canada ) stuff.

I have had great luck lately with Corvette Central (I just placed an order as a matter of fact) Prices and shipping (again, Canada) have been great.

They are fine as long as you don't need any customer service.

If anything goes wrong (like shipping damage or they send you the wrong part) then they don't give a rat's *** about you.

Default GMPartsDirect

Delivery time was the problem with me. No promised delivery time and no returns. The price was great for the pump but it didn't show up in a week and I had to go to Kragen to get one. Kragen didn't have it but looked up in the data base and found one about 5 miles away. It would have been well worth the $40 to have it in my hand the same day. I now have a spare pump in the garage.

I've tried to accomplish several purchases from them but each time the items went to backorder first, then the orders were cancelled because they were out of stock. They don't tell you that when you put in the order.

All the delivery worries convinced me to call Chris May. The $$ may be a couple of pizzas higher, but I'm confident it is already on its way.
