I need a starter in my 92 auto, so I called a buddy that is a service advisor at a Buick dealer, he HOOKED ME UP!!!
Friday it goes in.... Get this! A factory reman starter with a factory lifetime warranty INSTALLED for $210.00 plus tax.
Hows that for a buddy!!
He said as long as the starter is installed by a GM dealer it is covered by GM for as long as I own the car, any GM dealer anywhere towing included in the warranty.

Your starter must not be the high torque model, my old C3 vette had one of those $40 lifetime starters in it too.
I checked every auto parts store in my area and the high torque starter was going to cost me $175.00 and it was an aftermarket reman which usually suck, I have alsways had probs with them. The lifetime warranty that comes with a factory reman if it was installed by a dealer covers towing (in the event it fails) anywhere in the country, and installation. Sounded pretty good to me!!! And as a bonus I get to keep the skin on my knuckles.
