Advice for potential C4 owner
My coworker is in the market for a C4 Corvette. He's planning on looking at a 1995 this weekend. Can anyone here give me a list of things to look for when inspecting the car (problem areas and so forth).
Thanks in advance for your input.

A good start would be to see the car in person, followed by a test drive. If he's still interested in the car, pull a carfax then an inspection at a Chevy Dealership for about $75.00. But like I said, this would only be a good start. I'm sure other will have a better idea on many more things to look for.

Look at the owner.
Did he beat the car??
Did he care for the car???
Why is he selling it???
Does he have maintenance & repair bills???
How often did he change the oil???
Is he selling his 'baby' or his 'headache'???

Expensive things to repair (in no particular order)
Tires
Weatherstripping (around doors, windows, roof, hood, hatch glass...basically everywhere)
Leather interior
Dash pieces (if scuffed)
Water Pump
OptiSpark Distributor (just have him ask the guy if the "Opti" has been replaced *yet* - It WILL need replacing at some point)
It's also a good idea to check for any oil leaks (if visible). A good pre-purchase inspection at a reputable mechanic is well worth the money if he thinks he's gonna buy the car. The $100 or so he may spend could save him thousands down the road on a nicely disguised nightmare.

make sure all the body panel lines up nice, no wavy "fiberglass"....paint is good....i would take it to a vette specialty shop for the inspection, not just a dealership...mine only cost $40 and they were dead on with what the issues were....i have a link at home for a site that has a whole rundown of C4 prepurchase advice....i'll post again later
hmmmmmm.....site i HAD isn't up any more from what i can tell....but it was c4vettes.com
