DD's are so much fun. They provide so much more pleasure! Why would anyone have anything but a Corvette for a Daily Driver!?

My buddy wholesales cars and has bought many 9c1 caprice's "police package complete with lt1" everyone of those things had 150k minimum on them and still ran strong. The one he picked up was the dark maroon color like an impala s.s. and it had 277k on it and it would smoke the tires still !! go lt1 !!

My 93 has 223k and has been driven hard since I have owned it (197k). This car has been to track schools, improvised drag strips, and sees 100 mph just about everyday. Still doesn't burn oil, and if you keep a new opti-spark and decent plug wires will start flawlesslly after sitting at the airport for a week. Had to put a GM crate tranny in about 195k. The car still amazes me , but seems that there a few other high mileage Vettes out there. My experience convinced a friend of mine to buy a Z06 a couple years ago. He too is racking up the miles with few problems.

Can I reasonably expect to get 200K miles on the LT1 before getting a rebuild? How about the tranny?
Anyone have experiences with this?
Thanks
I turned 249K last week and just added converter, exhaust, and gears. Small block Chevys will go forever.

Default The answer is.......

You can put as many miles on C-4s as you want. You have to maintain these cars excellently and rebuild the major items as they break down. You will probably get tired of your C-4 before there are no more miles left in it. The fun is to find out how many miles can you put on these things.

Default High Mileage

I recently read a for sale add in a Florida newspaper, a "high mileage" corvette was for sale, a no nonsense ad....this was a 1992 Coupe with 280,000 miles on it. I don't think it was a typo and for a guy with a heavy traveling job a Vette is a great car to use, if you feel it is not to be babied. I gave up leaving my car in the garage after 90K, a couple years ago. Some day I will have a classic garage queen.....

As long as you keep changing the oil and other fluids and don't "beat" the car you should get 200k with no problems. I have a LONG time before I get even 100k on my '86.........she ONLY has 7900 on it now.

LOL! IMHO, it's the beatings that keep them running!

144K on my baby. Its a lot of work to keep it running well but its going strong. I haven't taken it to a mechanic in years. Trick on these cars is to do it all yourself.

I bought my Ruby over 5 years ago with 52K on it. She now has 107K and runs just as strong as the day I got her! Now that hasn't been with out some PM and regular maintenance. And who could ever get sick of a C4

My 91 Has 124,500 miles on it. Headers, Exhuast, Mallory ignition and a few other goodies. Still roast the tires right off it. Had to do the Tranny at 120,000. Now that thing is crazy with a good tranny.
My S-10 4.3 basically a SBC minus two pistion went 270,000 miles before I traded it in. I had it since 70,000. Did water pump, fuel pump and oil pressure sending switch.

I bought my 93 Ruby with 73,000 miles on it, it now has 155,000 and runs fine. I need to change the spark plugs and wires, but aside from the usual maintainence items, it has been a trouble free car.... (except for the little quirks, don't they all have some? )

My '85 has 134,000 on it and it still runs like it's new. I had the 700R4 rebuilt this past summer. That's the only major repair I've done since I've owned the car. I'm sure the old L-98 will keep on ticking!
