Way!!!

Hummmmmm -

Every sensor has been replaced more then once.

Trans was rebuilt 100K miles ago. Not original trans. Swapped out by prior owner... (Won't hold OD at WOT. So, in order to hit 135, I'm at 3/4 throttle so it doesn't downsshift into third and wipe the engine. If that ain't impressive, then what is???) And yup, Linda is also a member of the 130+ club...

Valve job at 77K just prior to my purchasing it.

Every belt driven accessory as been replaced.

New starter.

Second paint job already shot - rock chips from 300K miles!. (Hopefully, new paint this year!)

Rear hatch struts replaced twice.

I'm on a first name basis with the guy that installs tires at my local tire place...

New seat covers/foams.

Brakes, ball joints (twice) rear axle hubs (twice), steering rack twice (second one a warrenty replacement), so many MAF's that my lifetime warrenty ran out at Advance Auto!

I'm probably forgetting a few things...

I figure it this way:

No new car payments.
Never lost a race to a Rustang.
Never lost a race to a Ricer.

300K - Priceless!

My 86 is at 90k, but do I get any points for working on the car BEFORE I owned it? It was a buddy of mines' car, he worked at a dealership as a mechaninc, so the car was always getting something replaced, wether it needed it or not. He had a kid and found out that a family was more expensive to own than his vette, so I bought it off of him for cheap. I was there for most of the upgrades/mods/repairs when he did them to the car, so do I get at least half credit for the work?

My stock '92 had the transmission replaced at about 50K by a previous owner. And outside of that has had nothing but routine maintenance on it. It's got 165K now, and is still pulling strong with minimal oil burn. I have no doubt that she'll reach over 200k before she needs a rebuild.

I'm planning on keeping this car for life, even when it does need a rebuild.

I have a 1987 c4. I'm 22 years old and this is my daily driver. It currently has 197,xxx and is still running. I did have to replace head gasket and rebuild heads my self... but still runs! Dam VATS left me stranded on Christmas, but I had it going again within 48 hours. I'm looking for another car because I need back up

Welcome to the Forum. Don't be discouraged. Any 30 year old vehicle with ~200K on it is going to need some work from time to time. Pick yourself up a good reliable commuter car and keep the old Vette around.

Clutch should last over 150,000 miles.

Well, since this thread has been revived, I might add that a fellow co-worker had a '94 LT1 with an automatic (1 rebuild) with just over 300K miles. He had done quite a bit of maintenance over the years, but nothing major, except for the trans. rebuild.

My '95 has 181,000 and I'd feel confident taking it on a long trip.

That is just amazing - I love hearing when a Vette just keeps going, and going and going!! Kudos to you for keeping her so well maintained!

Can I reasonably expect to get 200K miles on the LT1 before getting a rebuild? How about the tranny?
Anyone have experiences with this?
Thanks
You can reasonably expect well over 300,000 miles if you continue to provide good maintenance to it. With oil changes when due, it should cruise right on by 300k, no problem.
