1989 Convertible Revival - Project Thread

I was able to get my quick jacks working, not a perfect fit for the C4 but with the extension trays that I ordered this morning, they should end up working nicely. The jack points on these cars are surprisingly close together.
I pulled the car out into the sun over the weekend and was able to drop the top for the first time, the rear window is not as brittle as I had feared, so no drama there.
Last night I changed the oil, swapped the front wheels so they’re now on the correct sides, installed the small hood struts that it seems they stopped in ‘88, and gave the undercarriage a good once-over. No major leaks or any notable rust which is great news.
A friend will be picking up a second set of salad shooters from marketplace that are close to him, which should take care of my bent wheel issue.
Other than that, unrelated, but with the warmup here in the northeast I was able to get my ‘79 C10 out yesterday for the first in a few months, so that was nice as well.
More to come, next task is likely troubleshooting the MAF code, as the car is occasionally running absolutely pig rich. Useful for mosquito repellant, but probably not helpful otherwise.
- Replaced the bent wheel with one from Marketplace
- Installed new Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires
- Finally registered the car
- Took it for about a 10 mile drive last night to shake out any other demons (none showed themselves, hooray)
- Decided that the Flowmaster mufflers will be going away ASAP, drone under 2k rpm is horrific.
I should have most of the day on Sunday to dig into the car, will be doing some diag on the MAF code, and as much as I can get done of plugs/wires/cap/rotor/fuel filter/trans fluid & filter/coolant hoses & flush/serp belt.
New rubber and some quick pictures from last night.
