COMPLETE J55 13" brake conversion for 84
My 84 sold, but the new owner isn't interested in the J55 conversion I had started, so I'm putting it up here. The following parts are included:
1 pair of 85 "uprights" (I call them spindles) with bearings
1 pair of brand new Raybestos Advanced Technology rotors (not slots or drilling)
1 set of Raybestos semi-metallic PGD pads
1 pair of dual-piston calipers
1 pair of stock later model caliper "adapters"
1 pair of DRM (Doug Rippie Motorsports) machined billet caliper adapters
1 DRM brake bias spring
assorted hardware
All you will need to complete this swap should be a set of bolts for the spindle-to-DRM adapters and the caliper adapter to DRM adapter bolts. I'd also get a new pair of caliper retainer pins since they are cheap and it would be better than cleaning the surface rust off the originals I have.
Here is the thread where I originally bought the stock parts, not including the new rotors, pads and uprights: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-p...-early-c4.html
I have over $500 in this setup, and would like to get $400 plus shipping. It's not light, so please keep that in mind. I could remove the front bearings from the spindles to cut 15 pounds or so out of the shipping weight.

Several of you have asked for pictures and shipping costs. I was going to pick up all the parts at the shop yesterday but I ended up working 13 hours and couldn't add another 4 hours of driving to get to the shop to pick everything up. I'll try to go up tomorrow night after work instead.
Sorry for the delay.

I had forgotten about those lovely GM caliper bolts - I think they were something like $15 EACH at the local dealer. I dished out for them because I don't want cheap Chinese bolts holding my brake together.....
