Not hard at all. There is a configuration quick setup screen that you enter some basic information in, like head port opening size (height/width), cam specs, firing order, and some other easy to find information and it gets you started with a timing curve and fueling strategy.
When I put the miniram on the 350, it started first time, idled nice and ran good. Same with the 408, entered the new specs and it fired right up and I started fine tuning from there.
It even has an "Autocalc" button that you can press and will adjust fueling for the specific running condition. You do this in different scenarios, then smooth out the graph in the 3D view.
You do not need the aftermarket TB I have. I used this system with a stock style TB on the miniram 350.
Let me know if you have other questions
