Default 1985 Delco Freedom Battery

I have an original sealed Delco Freedom Battery out of a 7000 mile 1985 corvette. The car is my uncle's and he needed a new battery, he's not into nostalgia, so he didn't care about his original.
I took it just because it's cool. To the best of my knowledge it doesn't hold a charge but it would make a great addition to a clean all original C4. Just swap it out with your normal battery after you park at the car cruise It's very clean with good stickers.
For any GM nut, it could make a cool shelf item in your garage too. It's been a shelf item in my garage too long now, plus I have a 1977. It's not era appropriate.
It's free to the first person interested, all I ask is that you paypal me money for UPS shipment before I send the battery out to you. I'll pack it up, get a price using your address and PM that to you.
My only other option is turn it in for $25.00 at the parts store. That just don't seem right though.

Out of curiosity, what part store gives $25 for old batteries? Regarding shipping batteries on UPS, I'd be surprised if they accept them due to acid spillage potential. Nice gesture though.

It was last summer that I saw the sign at a local Franks Auto Supermarket "$25 for battery cores". That could've changed though. The battery is sealed, so it's very unlikely it would leak or spill, but as far as UPS is concerned... it's a starter in that box.

Core value is now about 15 dollars but I'm sure they will charge you 25 if you dont have a core unit when you buy a new battery

people are missing the boat on this. if You want to have your early C4 NCRS judged this could be worth more then a core charge

glad to see that I'm not the only one who sees the value in this original delco part... I realize to the right person this could be worth around 50 to 75 bucks, maybe more in time, but call me good natured. Someone's C4 is gonna look pretty cool with this in it.

PS there is also a way to cut the battery apart and put a working battery inside so it will look original and still start your car.

If you have the pockets, there are places that can open them up and rebuild them.
