Want a 383 LT4??
I build 6-10 engines a year and I built me a nice one to show off with. However, my plans have changed and I'm going on a 12,000 road trip this year with my son. I'm going to build me something a little less powerful so I guess I'll sell this one rather than take it apart and change a few components. I'll then build me another with about a hundred horsepower less.
Here's some specifics and I have a ton of pics available of the build. This build is understressed and will live a very long time. Power will be well over 500 FWHP. I've not had this one on a dyno but I've checked others with less cam and lesser heads and had around 500 FWHP.
Comes with balance sheet and build sheet showing components, clearances, weights, etc.
383 LT4 4 bolt main block, heads and intake. Block is zero decked and quench is set by head gasket thickness. Head gasket is .038 Cometic MLS.
58mm TPIS throttle body
42# injectors just returned from Jon at FIC. They were balanced, new filters and o-rings were installed.
Cryo treated 4340 Eagle crank and rods. (I've never experienced a failure with these components when assembled correctly).
Mahle -16cc PowerPak pistons. (11.2 compression)
LE3-LT4 heads. Lloyd Elliot's stage 3 porting on heads and intake. 2.08/1.60 Ferrea valves, Springs are 160# seat/475# @ .600 lift.
Lash Caps
Jesel shaft mount 1.6 rockers
LT4 double roller timing chain With modified front cover (for clearance)
Comp Cams solid roller cam. This is their street roller series and is fairly mild for a SR. Lift is only .603/.609 and duration is 236/242. Lobe separation is 112 degrees. This cam is ground for daily street use. I've used similar cams and have only had to adjust the valves every 12,000 miles or so and then just .001-.002 max.
Comp Endure-X lifters
Comp magnum pushrods
Meziere high flow electric water pump
Canton 7 Qt oil pan with crank scraper, windage tray and trap doors. Includes threaded fittings for all the LT1 stuff plus extras.
Canton valve covers for LTX Corvette with cutout on the driver's side.
ATI Superdamper
Oil pump with bolt on pick-up for the Canton pan.
King bearings
SFI approved flexplate
ARP everywhere.
The price is $6500 for the most complete engine you can imagine.
Deduct $900 if you don't want/need the Canton oil pan ($330), the Canton valve covers ($220) and the ATI damper ($400).
9 1/2 inch Street Edge converter (list $575) for an additional $450.
Does not come with Optispark but I will include the Bailey LTCC system with harness, 8 LS1 coil packs, custom Opti cover with Opti, custom coil mounts and control box for an additional $500.
Just bolt on your accessories and bracket, plug in the harness and go beat up on the Z06 that your buddy has.
