Default For Sale: Exotic Muscle 1 ¾ Catted Long Tube Headers

Selling a set of Exotic Muscle 1 ¾ Long Tube headers with high flow catalytic converters and second set of intermediate pipes to a Corsa exhaust system.

Purchased in 2008 for my 1996 Corvette LT4 with ZF6. These are 1 ¾ inch long tube design with a 3 inch collector. I requested AIR fittings, but are not drilled open.

Headers provided a 21 WHP topend gain and nearly 52 WTQ in midrange over OEM manifolds and cats on my warmed up LT4 engine.

EM coating proved not durable and updated with Satin Black ceramic coating (2400 degrees F-turbo applications/nearly 40% increase in heat durability). Coating is brand new-never installed.

Also updated the header to connector pipe connection to a ball joint seal-leak proof and gasket not required-EM connection was difficult to seal using band clamps.

I’m including both connector pipes-one catted and one not-both EM sourced. The non-catted pipes proved far too loud and was a challenge to seal properly with a 100% seal. The catted pipes with a ball joint eliminate this issue.

Either set up will bolt right on to a manual trans LT1/4 setup with a Corsa (possibly others as well) cat back system.

Very happy with the acceptable sound at cruise-car is a daily driver and sounds phenomenal at WOT.

Used: 24,341 miles

Why: Returned car to stock for selling...

Headers with non catted connectors from EM: $1007
Catted connector pipes: $585
Flow Master Ball Joints: $230
High Temperature Coating: $214
Total invested: $2036

Price: $1050 *shipped* anywhere within continental US.

Paypal preferred.

Had a couple of questions concerning this system:

Originally ceramic coated bright silver from EM.

Now ceramic coated in satin black (higher heat rating).

Sound is quiet at cruise (no drone), but will open up at WOT (typical with Corsa, but a bit more so).

Below is a link that might assist in the sound with this system-trackday at Sebring with my car-love it when the walls talk back to you!

Please note, I'm covering shipping. Likely two boxes and they are not light!

Thanks.

Any pictures of how these looked installed?

And how were you set up? Sounds like Corsa cat back, right? Stock Cat?

Yes, Corsa was used on my car for the duration/sound bytes. Very impressed with the system.

The catted connector pipes are EM sourced parts...cats are Random Technology Bullet Cats-I didn't loose any seat of the pants power when I added them...piece of mind was gained though! Car was not dynoed without the cats.

I will have to look for images-system installed like any other EM header install-I just added the ball joint to eliminate the slip fit header to connector junction-now just bolt up and go.

If you still have these for sale later in the summer I would be interested. But i expect them to be gone by then.

I let some people borrow money and that was my vette fund.

illenema: No smog required in FL...but they are known as quality cats.

shakedown: Are you sure you don't want them? A local pickup would be cheaper.

Unfortunately yes. It's the same price as tires. Plus, our second child is now on the way (due Nov 14th). Not to mention I just got new cats less than two years ago.

Too bad I'll miss ya Saturday. Say, you ever make it to Daytona with the vette?

FWIW I use the same headers (EM) and cats (Random Technology) on my 383 and I passed the WA state sniffer test which is, or at least was as of 2 years ago) the same as southern CA.

No guarantees of course, but RT does sell them as replacement cats. Might be worth calling Random Tech and asking them.

Tim is a stand-up guy and that's a great price on the parts

96GS#007: appreciate the feedback on the cats...glad we don't have that in FL...93 octane to boot!

Price reduced: $975 shipped to lower 48.

Thanks.

I'll probably lose a bit of low end for stepping up from 1 5/8" on my stock LT1, although I'll take them.

Sent email, consider them sold.

Just think of them as having room to grow into.

Payment has been sent.

Tim was very kind as to multiple discussions on fitment. Best for a manual transmission, however I will have a shop make it fit.

Sold!

I may be taking another direction with my motor/exhaust, and would like to see if there is any interest in these headers.

I haven't had the time to even take them out of the box yet. Same asking price.

Cheers!
