No problem , post master has already made his stop , will ship tomorrow, I may sell the vss out of the 96 if it has a 3:07 setup other member wants the gear . need to check and see if it has the G92 rear end.
Mike if I soldthe other one i'd have to get 40.00 for it it's most like in a 96 vette i'm parting out and not up to pulling it.
pm me if interested.
The '96 if an A4 would be an -e transmission and use an electronic pick-up vs a driven gear set up. The gears were used in 4L60 no -e. A later M6 could have a 42 tooth driven and work.

Makes sense mostly parted out D44 cars and never really pull the VSS to see what's in there on A4. the 96 does have the G92 rear end in A4 so it does have 3:07 , not that it matters. . I have an 87 Doug nash that most likely has a 42 gear , 85-88 D44 cars came with 3:07 gears in back.
thanks for the heads up before I attempted to pull it out of the 96.
