Default New Hypertech Power Chip/160° Thermostat

Bought this a little while ago to put in my 1992 Corvette, but never really got around to it and I've done other things to the car instead. So, it is a brand new, unused Hypertech Power Chip/Thermostat combo. The thermostat is a 160 degree thermostat, there's only one tiny indication of that on the thermostat which I will try to take a picture of. I probably paid around $180 for this, so give me $100 (or shoot me a different offer) and it's yours, I'll even pay the shipping. Any questions, let me know.

Thanks!

School me on the chip, what does it do exactly, does it adjust the fan operating temps or is it just something to allow for the use of the new thermostat?

You can use the chip with whatever thermostat you want, the stock 350 one is a 180 degree I believe and this one is a 160 degree. The only reason a 160 degree is included with the chip is because the Hypertech company boasts power gains with the chip installed, so the lower temp thermostat should prevent overheating since obviously more power = more heat. Otherwise, the main thing the chip contains is different, more up to date, fuel trims and spark advance for "improved performance" as the box says. It's the same stuff that would be altered if you were to take your car to a shop to be dynoed/tuned.

It's all good, my friend! Forums are all about people taking to one another. Could he have simply searched for the chip on Google? Of course. But then what am I going to do with all this Hypertech Power Chip knowledge in my head...

I have an idea , you can learn about Corvettes and how the parts work or you can let someone else do it for you . A person should never say I have all the knowledge I need , never stop learning .

I've got an idea, how about not judge people you don't know or know anything about, it was just a simple question and the person was more than ok with answering it. Dude posted a for sale ad and I inquired about it, it's not a big deal.
