Correct me if I'm wrong, but ALL manual trans cars from 1985-96 had the D36 in them and are interchangeable. Just need to verify the gear ratios. But,,,,,the Beam length and the Driveshaft is 1" shorter, so those adjustments will also need to be made. The D44 has been known t take some pretty harsh abuse, even at the drag strip.

I was able to get the whole rear end off an '86 with a 3.07 in good shape for not a bad price. Came with the axles and everything attached. Mechanic says it's a fit. Thanks for your help everyone!

You mean they all had a D44
