Lowering any car will also shorten the distance the shock rod will travel during compression. You are effectively compressing the shock by the amount you lower the car. That reduces the distance of travel the shock rod can have and, depending on the road condition or how you drive the car, can cause the shock to more frequently go to full compression and bind.
