GMPP847 cam users, whaddya think?
I have a 383 about to go into my 96CE with 6 speed and 4.10 gears. I am going to use the 847 cam instead of the cc306. tjwong and rottie (outstanding guys) helped with the decision greatly.
So... does anyone else use this cam? How do you like it. I know it will have a serious idle and such, but that's OK by me. I want to know what you like or dislike about it

Well if TJWong assisted in this selection... bank that it is good as gold. I've heard that it is a pretty radical cam and you will see some cam surge... but I'd take TJ's advice. He seems to know his stuff

This Cam is the same one that Crane makes, and I believe MorePerformance uses it in there 535 HP 396 LT1.

Just looked at the new (March 2005) Hot Rod Magazine......they had article on 500hp 383.....they talk about the cam they used and an alternate cam....It was a comcams,but I think it was pretty much in line with the 847.....
You might want to check it out just to compare.........I am sure your package is going to be a good one!!!!!
