That looks like the Water coolant passage built into the throttle body, with a breather on it to make it look better than a piece of pipe sticking out into nowhere. it's a show car, can't have that as an eyesore.

i dunno, that's what it looks like to me.

That's about the ugliest excuse for an LT1 I've seen in a long time.

I have seen uglier engines, however, those were old and abused. I have never seen anything so AFU on purpose. I really don't believe that this monstrosity was planned someone must have had some leftover baby $hit brown paint and or powder coat?
Although I will admit that I like the camel snot yellow.

There's a breather tube on MY throttle body (L98, yes, but it's there). A pipe connects it to the breather port on the rear of the valve cover, where he's got another breather element.

That's why you need to get on a high-speed connection - For those people who upload pictures way too big. It took my server 1-2 seconds to load it (Comcast Cable). It really does pay to go on broadband.

that's what it looks like.

I removed that pipe also from between the valve cover and put on a breather on the valve cover and just put a rubber plug on the port on the tb.. Cleaned up the inside of the superram and the TB a LOT. No more oily sutt and crap in there.

Some of you guys are too quick to criticize everything. It's not my favorite colors by any means but I can appreciate anything that someone has poured that much detail into. That suspension is sweet. Guess I'm just a car guy.

Now as far as the little throttle body breather goes, I guess he felt that looked better than a plug. Not much function.

I'm sure it took a lot of time, skill, and money to make something that ugly. I'm sure somebody is very proud. You can't look at that and say it looks good. Top notch craftsmanship or not it's just plain ugly.

You've heard the saying "a rose by any other name is still a rose" well "ugly by any other name is still ugly"

Default I tried that same mod

I tried that same mod on my '83 Vette. I didn't get 100HP gain. I only noticed a 93 HP gain and my antifreeze leak caused a lifter gasket to fail. I don't reccomend it unless you have a F**D truck.

And you think that removing the air hose between the VC and the port on the TB did that?

Personally I wouldn't put a breather on the TB port itself as you'd be introducing unmeterd air on a MAF car to your intake.. Thats why I plugged mine up.

lol, airbags are sweet huh? Ok, to each his own.
As for breather, the guy is retarded, plain and simple - cut those barbs off with a hacksaw and fill it in. That's what I did after ditching the heater hose, took roughly 30 minutes including removal and reinstallation.

I agree, posting low res pics is almost useless. So much detail is lost. This one could use to be a meg or so larger. Ugly or not, that thing has a lot of detail that I do want to see in it's full glory. As for downloading today, your mistake is plugging your phone line into your computer

pS. What about air cleaners?

He's using the later stlye fuel rail covers that don't have a notch for the breather line from from the throttle body. The vavle covers that were used with those FR covers had a whole in the side where the breather line would connect. Also, you wouldn't have to worry about unmetered air intering the intact. This is where cool was designed to flow. Hell, it might actually allow the throttle body to be a little cooler.
