Default Cooling System Seal Tabs

I wanted to do a cooling system flush on my 87 and I picked up the new mix with anything Prestone, distilled water, and, went by GM to get the old cooling system tabs. The parts guy asked Cadillac or not? I asked what was the difference and they now have two different ones. The "Cadillac" ones #3634621 he said were for aluminum blocks so I told him to sell me those. They are much bigger than the old style that I used two years ago, and, I'm sure that if I had said they were for anything except a Cadillac he would have provided the old style and, I wouldn't have known the difference. Maybe all of you know about the new seal tabs, but, I wanted to mention them just to be sure. Like everyone I don't need a head gasket failure if it can be avoided. regards

One time I got the larger (horse pill) size, the next time they were no longer packaged for individual sale, but in a big box with a plastic liner. The parts guy just dug out the number I wanted and sold them to me, it was only a couple of bucks.

Also they gave me a tip to crush them up first then add to the system. Seems to make them disolve easier. I just use a small zip lock screw bag, and smack em' with a rubber mallet.
