Crossfire on Two Guy's Garage
They were converting an original '84 Crossfire to a TPI. Pretty informative and I learned quite a bit about that old system. Neat idea.
I especially enjoyed the explanation of "swirling fuel mixtures" and how they showed the inner workings, etc.
Anyone else catch Sam and Dave today? Anyone still tinkering with the Crossfire Injection?
Until recently I normally got excited when I could tune my Scout's carb correctly, haha.
They discussed the usage of long runners for better low end torque which intrigued me.
I realize that show's like that normally don't have a great deal of information, but I learned quite a bit about it today.

Make sure you watch the show. I think it would be worth your while...
They specifically used a COMPLETE Painless Performance setup just because they mentioned how difficult it might be to try and retrofit a different or existing harness.
The Painless Performance harness and computer, from the Perfect Engine Management Line, looked like the way to go. Computer, harness, etc.
Just check your listings...they'll replay that episode about a jazillion times between now and next week.

I never was convinced that the X-Ram was much better than my ported stocker, but according to THAT thread, mine is better.

RACE ON!!!
Nor was I. I think the data coming from www.crossfire.webhop.net suggests the Xram doesn't do anything more than a well port matched Xfire manifold does. The top plate on the Xram is the worst part of the design. I can't take issue with the Weind bottom end. Having said that, Ben73 just ran his Xram/383 at 110mph(observed).
I'll bet Ben could go faster with my manifold.
By the way, Dominic, what kind of times are you running these days?
RACE ON!!!
I haven't had the car out on the track since I swapped the cam and did the ZF-6 TRANSplant. It feels much faster BUT SOTP means little.
My best time was a 13.65 and my best trap was 102.1 mph. I hope to get to the track this spring. I'll keep you posted.
all my baggin on the Xram consists of me just saying i took it off to put back on the ported stocker because it worked better for me.
i gotta admit i thought the Xram was something unique at first and i was right,it is. but, as far as really looking at it and understanding it...those 180 turns that the air has to make a few times really kills it. i'd like to see Ben run a ported stocker with his 383.
At least it's not going into the popular phase of turning good shop shows into rediculous drama shows between bosses and employees sweating out impossible deadlines (ie American Hotrod, Unique Whips, Pimp my ride.. ect.) That stuffs getting a bit silly.
I cant stand whats happening. It's like soap operas for guys.
I was surprised at this episode. It still ended up being more of an ad for Painless Products...but entertaining nonetheless.
I also feel exactly the same way about the American [Fill in Here] Series and some other shows. They do seem to be a guy's soap opera most of the time! I keep watching though...
I also saw my cousin over the weekend and he mentioned how he drove his Dad's Crossfire years ago. It was nice because I actually new what he was talking about more than I would have previously
One thing they said that gave me a grin was that the front wheel and wheel well skirting HAD to be removed to install that new battery.
Guess they didnt have a thin 3/8's wrench to remove the side panel with.
