Default Threads you never see on the C4 forum . . .

Did you ever notice you never see threads like:

My engine runs so smooth and never misses or stumbles. . .
It took me only 20 minutes to change plugs and wires. . .
The cabin is so quite you never hear any rattles, squeaks, creaks. . .

I wonder why?

we're a collective group of pessimists!

But you do here "man I love my vette," "Glad I'm not driving a Ford," and "I just smoked a brand new ____."

But as a resource board, naturally the weaknesses and problems of our 20+ year old vehicles are going to be the main topic of discussion (ie "how do I fix ...?").

I'm guessing it's similar stuff on other enthusiast boards - but with less class!

That's because no one wants to hear it.

It does takes me less than 20 minutes to change my plugs, but it takes me over an hour to cut back the plugs for installation.

Car idles better with single plane than with SR or stock.

There is no excitement in the above true statements and if you have problems - you sure do not want to read about good fortune.

I have come to the conclusion that owning a vett is like haveing a Hot azz, sexy, high maintenance, wife. You keep throwing money at her to keep her happy, you will loose your azz when you get rid of her, but you look good with her and she's yours.

Actually, my motor doesn't miss or stumble, and I can change my plugs and wires in less than 20 minutes if committed.

the squeak rattle and roll is another story..... I've got about 30 of those.

cheers,
Beach Bum

When I thought I had solved the miss problem a few weeks ago I was all set to bring it to John for the rockers and springs. Then the miss came back with a vengeance; at the same time things went crazy at work so I did not have a slug of time to be without the car. Work is easing up now so I plan to bring it in so John can keep it several days for the install and to search for my missing problem.

Here's a positive one, my Hurst shifter went in without a hitch(why would I want a hitch, I have one on my truck).

But seriously it was a smooth install.

I thought of one you never hear..."F/S: 35th anniversary parts, Cheap" and, of course "This LT5 is a pleasure to purchase parts for, reasonable pricing!"

I don't know about the time to change plugs but when you have a Vette with the other two things going for you you'r driving down the road with a smile from ear to ear and not on you computer...

For a good report.

120k on the odometer. I drag race, autocross, and take it to the track, and it runs great, haven't broke it yet. I did have to do a cap&rotor on my opti, but it wasn't a full replacement, and I got 110k out of it. Not bad for any distributor.

Mine idles smooth as glass and never misses, but as another said, the interior rattles are another thing. I'm slowly getting to 'em, though. It just seems that whenever I get one nailed down (figuratively speaking), another pops up! Oh well...makes for more fun time spent in the car.
