Default Installing vacuum canister

Looks like my new cam might be a bit big to maintain vacuum for the brakes . Anyone installed a vacuum canister in a C4?? Where will it fit? I've removed the AIR pump, so I'm thinking down in the headlight well on the drivers side if it can squeeze in there. If I install a new canister, can I get rid of the vacuum "ball" down there now. It doesn't seem to be helping me...

FYI: This is what I'm looking at installing and this is for a 92 6 speed.

Thanks!

I put mine in the spot where the purge canister once resided. Under the left headlight.

Since I'm running carbed, the purge ball wasn't really needed anyway, and it was almost a perfect fit. I just had to fabricate two mounting posts to keep the vacuum canister from jolting around.

The best bet, though, is to run an electric vacuum pump, keeps those power brakes working even with a brap-brap-brap-brap type cam with 6" of vacuum at 1000 rpm (ask me how I know!). They're only $250.

You'll find tht the vacuum canister gives out after a pump or two.

You hold yourself on a hill with the brakes, and in 5 seconds, you'll stall out. The canisters just don't have enough capacity.

If all you're looking to do is run your vacuum-powered headlights on a '68 Vette, then go with a canister. Otherwise, you'll probably be better off with the pump.
