Default '88 door lock switch installation??

I found that the "lock" works but not the "unlock" function so I'm going to order new switches.

After pulling the front bezel from the switch I found there was no way to easily disconnect the wires.

Has anyone replaced one of the switches and how did you deal with the wiring??

I just ordered two switches (p/n 30777) @$7 from Contemporary Corvette; guess I'll figure it out once the new switches come in.

I replaced the PDL switches in both doors of my 88 vert. They have 5 pins that plug into the harness (white plastic connector). Mine were stuck, so I disconnected the neg batt cable and pried them apart from the connector with a small screwdriver. When I installed the new, coated pins on switches with dielectric grease. Hope this helps.

Ah, that's it.

It didn't look like the white plastic into which the wires are fastened wanted to unplug from the black plastic under it.

Thanks Charlie.

Wow, I ordered the switches from Contemporary Corvette yesterday morning and they just arrived today...cudos to CC.

Indeed the new switches have the 5 pins and looks as though they should just plug right in.

Wow, another one bites the dust.

Two of the contact posts on the old driver's door lock switch were heavily corroded. So I cleaned the female contacts, coated the posts with dialectric gease installed the new switch and "voila", the locks now work from either door.

Thanks again Corky52 for the tip on prying apart the switch between the white plastic and the black switch body.
