Removing 93 Instrument Cluster
I just got bought a replacement instrument cluster for my 93 and was wondering if the cluster is as easy to remove as it appears?

if i remember right... remove the lower dash panel.. remove the 2 big bolts that hold the column up.. lower the column.. remove the vents and all the screws should be accesible to remove... just unplug and pull it out.
its been a few years since i put in a 8k rpm tach in my car so i cant remember the exact details but its a DIY job for sure :p

Steve, here's the tech tip on LT1 cluster R&R. Just curious, what is worng with your present cluster? I bought an extra cluster and had the tach converted to 8000, just haven't found the time to swap it out yet.

When I reconnected the battery the new cluster lit up immediately... I think I am going to send the old one out to get fixed and have it on standby for when someone needs it.... if the thing didn't have the gas gauge on it, I could have lived with it indefinitely...

thanks for that link, I can see one thing that I did wrong, and that was put the steering column bracket on in reverse, the tongue part is facing down instead of up... so I guess I will go change that.... I wonder if it will hurt anything if I leave it as is?
