Default Trouble with transgo shift kit

Just installed a transgo shift kit and had trouble with it not shifting into 3rd (unless the shifter was in 4th position and I backed off). I think the cause might be with the instructions not stating that the large check ball was to be reinstalled. I will reinstall the ball and cross my fingers!

I have double checked everything but need to know if I have the accumulator springs in the right position. I have one 33mm long (stiffer) and one 40mm long (softer). I originally had the longer one on the bottom side of the plate.

Does anyone know if that is correct?

I also checked the valves in the valve body and found the 4th lock up valve is not springing back (pushing from the inner side). It is difficult to remove so before I did, does anyone know if this valve should "spring back" like the others? The workshop manual shows it has a spring inside but it doesnt seem to move back on its own.

Any help is appreciated as I have it all apart and wanted to reinstall it tonight.

If you don't get the answers here give the TransGo tech line a call. I've found them to be very knowledgable and helpful.

Good luck with it.

Thanks but I'd rather not stay up all night waiting to ring the US.
