Default Make chip or Buy Chip?
I have an 87 TPI and was wondering if I should get a scan tool and eprom burner or just buy a chip online.

There are alot of resources either way.. Moates.net has about everything hardware that you would need and tunercat makes some fantastic relieable and stable software.

with the obd 1 to usb and tuner cat can I change my cars settings or just read them.

also if an 87 TPI is showing check engine light will tuner cat tell you which sensor to check?

You can do that with a paper clip. You really should buy a shop manual.
