HELP with Wheel Bearings!

Can wheel bearings on a C4 actually freeze? A friend of mine just had a C4 towed with a intermittent locking of the left front, some movement (rotation) in reverse, next to nothing in drive? What could this be? The car does have around 160K on the clock?

Cruise-In II Veteran

Never heard of a wheel bearing locking up but it could be something to check.Other causes are seize brake caliper and or the brake hose.
Those are what I would check.

I may be wrong but the wheel bearings are so mickey mouse I think they would fall apart first.Maybe a seized caliper?(just my 2 cents)

Once I had a chunk of rubber recap kick up and get between the caliper an rim. This locked it up. Check all the obvious stuff first.
