Default Exhaust Manifold Gasket question

Well, I am putting on my brand new SLP headers, but had a quick question about the gaskets. They are the "sandwiched metal" kind, for lack of a better description, and they have this groove in them around the openings for the exhaust to flow. Do I want the groove facing the heads, or the manifolds? (does this make any sense???)

I think I installed mine facing the manifolds. I don't believe it makes a differece. I don't have a leak. :blueangel:

it does make a difference.. the gaskets are marked which side towards the motor.. if i remember correctly, the little tabs should be on the bottom sticking out.. but look at 'em closely.. they should say "this side out (or in)"
