Default Outer tie rods end replacement

Left outer tie rod clunks pretty bad. How tough is it to replace? (Re-alignment afterwards of course) :chevy

Default Re: Outer tie rods end replacement (Jims 93Ruby)

it's really not too hard, but almost every one i've ever done required a torch to heat the end up enuf to get it to loosen..
note this is another lifetime warranty part available from autozone..

if you count how many rotations it takes to spin it off and then put the new one on accordingly, you won't have to rush over to the alignment place right away. it'll be close.. just get it done before your next track event!

What do you mean it clunks. I have seen some pretty sloppy ones but never one that clunks. You may have a rack thats starting to go as well. I have had 200K miles on original tie rod ends and no clunk. They will be pretty loose though.
